ABOUT US
Our centre offers a safe environment for the young people of Wooler and surrounding areas, to enjoy social activities and access impartial information and advice. We aim to empower young people to realise their potential, to improve their life opportunities, develop positive relationships with others and contribute positively to society and their local community.

SERVICES
We are currently open two evenings a week for young people in year 7 and over. Our first session of the evening runs from 6:30-8pm for years 7 and 8 and the following session from 8-9:30pm for years 9 and over. All young people are welcome to attend the sessions and drop in to meet the team and other young people. The young people who attend enjoy spending time with friends, meeting new people, listening to music, using the MC decks, gaming with friends and playing pool. There are also options of structured activities by choice of the young people such as arts and crafts, outdoor games, cooking, visits from local services and trips away.
All the staff welcome discussion with the young people about any issues affecting them such as alcohol and drugs abuse, sexual health, mental health issues, social media safety and any other topics that the young people wish to discuss either individually or in a group session. We also offer a C-Card service.
FUN TRIPS
Whilst we like to have in-house events such as parties and movie nights, we also like to go further afield for fun trips such as an escape room challenge in Berwick or a day trip to InflateSpace.
At The Drop In we provide interactive and fun opportunities learning more about our local community, such as visits to the local fire station to learn about road safety and a visit from a local paramedic to explain the basics of first aid are just some examples of the practical learning experiences we have taken part in.
